Too Many Rides
The owner wants three more trips squeezed into Darnell's day.
In this scene
Linda: The broker offered three more dialysis trips. Put them on Darnell's route.
Rosa: His route is full. If I add them, every rider after ten o'clock is picked up late.
Linda: If we turn trips down, the broker gives them to someone else.
Rosa: If we take them and run late, people miss dialysis. Let's accept what we can cover, and tell the broker now.
Linda: You're right. Take one, decline two, and let's talk about hiring.
Questions to think about
- A route is already full. The broker offers more trips. You:
- Why does an overloaded schedule matter?
- You can't cover a trip. When do you tell the broker?
Schedule what you can safely doOnly accept trips you can cover on time, with enough time between them for loading, securement and traffic. An overloaded route means late pickups, missed appointments and rushed drivers. If you can't cover a trip, tell the broker early so the rider still gets there.
