Clock In, Show Up
Real visits. Real times. No shortcuts.
- The visit starts with the personElectronic visit verification records when care really happens. Clocking in before you're with the person bills for care they didn't get, and that's fraud. If your schedule is too tight, tell your supervisor. Episode 1: The Visit That Wasn't
- Real times onlyAlways record the times you actually start and finish, even when they don't match the schedule. If they're different, add a short note saying why. An honest record protects the person, the agency, and you. Episode 2: Real Times Only
- Never sign blankNo one should ever be asked to sign a blank or unfinished timesheet. Fill in the real dates and times first, so the person can check them before they sign. Episode 3: Just Sign Here
- When the app failsIf your phone or the visit app fails, still give the care, and record the real times using your agency's backup method. Tell your supervisor the same day, so the record can be completed properly. Episode 4: The Phone Died
- Care in the planYour visit is for the services in the person's plan. Extra chores billed as care are not allowed, even as a favor. If the person needs more help, encourage them to talk to their case manager about changing the plan. Episode 5: Doing Her a Favor
- Fix it, don't hide itCheck your visit records. If a time is wrong, tell your supervisor so it's corrected with the real times and a note, and never billed. And if billing ever looks wrong, you can report it to your supervisor or the fraud hotline. Episode 6: Fix It, Don't Hide It
- Swap the right wayShift swaps go through your agency first, so the schedule, the client and the visit records are all correct. Everyone clocks in and out as themselves, never for someone else. Records that show the wrong person are false, even if the visit happened. Episode 7: The Shift Swap
- Call ahead, record the real timeIf you're running late, tell the client and your agency as soon as you safely can. Clock in when you actually arrive, never at the scheduled time. Late visits happen; false times are a much bigger problem. Follow your agency's rules on late and missed visits. Episode 8: Running Late
- No cash, no side workDon't accept cash, gifts or private side work from the people you support, outside your agency's rules. It blurs boundaries and can put them and you at risk. If someone needs more help, tell your agency so the person's case manager can look at their plan. Episode 9: Cash on the Side
- Ask before going overWork within the hours the person's plan approves. If someone regularly needs more time, tell your supervisor so their case manager can review the plan. Don't quietly stay over and expect it to be billed. Extra hours need approval first. Episode 10: More Hours Than Approved
