Good Day

Marcus writes "Good day" for Tasha's note.

In this scene

Tasha: This one for dinner!

Marcus: Good choice.

Grace: What did you write for Tasha today?

Marcus: Good day. No issues.

Grace: What did she actually do today?

Marcus: She practised counting change at the bakery. Then she picked the music for dinner.

Grace: That's her goal, handling her own money. Write that.

Marcus: Isn't good day enough?

Grace: Anyone could write good day. A note should show the support you gave and how she did.

Marcus: Tasha counted change for three purchases at the bakery, with one prompt.

Grace: Now the next shift, the nurse and her planner can all use it.

Questions to think about

  • Which note is most useful?
  • Why connect notes to the person's goals?
  • Who reads daily notes?
Show the support"Good day" tells the next shift nothing. A good note says what the person did, the support you gave, and how they did, linked to their goals. That's what the team, the nurse and the person's plan can actually use.
